Mission Statement
Solid Rock Youth Ministries, Inc. operates under the commission and authority of the Independent Baptist Church of Elmira, New York where Rev. Richard Hack is the pastor. It maintains offices in Odessa, NY and accomplishes its goals of reaching and helping troubled youth and their families through ministering teams from local churches across America. These teams preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in "church" services within youth detention centers and children’s facilities. Our staff "follows up" the work of these teams within the homes of the young people who make professions of faith in Christ and desire further help with their Christian walk. Every effort is made to connect these young people with local churches and to lead their families to the Lord. SRYM provides Biblical counseling for youth, support and encouragement to families, and referral to other ministries providing counseling, housing, and vocational training where needed. SRYM works as a network, maintaining ties with other ministries and providing churches and families with up-to-date information on faith-based children’s homes and services across the country when young people are incorrigible, out of control within their home, and under spiritual bondage. Since it’s founding, SRYM has seen thousands of troubled young people and their families turn to faith in Christ to have a new life in Him. SRYM maintains a website and a toll-free telephone hotline where young people can receive information, counseling, and real help from network churches across the country. SRYM also assists in planting and strengthening local churches in needy communities where youth return after being in detention.
