Discouragement
One of the most powerful weapons aimed at us by the
devil is discouragement.
If Satan is able to get a Christian discouraged, he has
succeeded in taking him or her out of God’s plan and placing that individual in a state of
"Woe is me, What’s the use."
Discouragement is truly a trial of
faith. It is an unfavorable attitude of disheartening and disapproving personal
conditions. I encourage you to pray and meditate on up-lifting Scripture, keeping in mind
the passage:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12).
"Be sober, be
vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom
he may devour:" (I Peter 5:8).
"Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the
devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse
your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded." (James 4:7&8).
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
(James 4:10).
Listen to what God has to say to you:
"Have
not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest." (Joshua
1:9).
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
(John 14:27)
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we
shall reap, if we faint not." (Galatians 6:9)
"Be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." (Psalms
31:24)
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for
he is faithful that promised" (Hebrews 10:23)
"Cast thy burden upon the
Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
(Psalms 55:22)
"Casting ALL your care upon him; for he careth for
you." (I Peter 5:7)
"Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead
our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting
covenant…Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is
well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen." (Hebrews 13:20-21)
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and
the power of his might." (Ephesians 6:10)
Finally, PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR
OF GOD (Ephesians 6:10-18).
