| Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. - Matthew 5:14 |

Every Christian is a light for Christ, but not every Christian is the type of light he should be. Some Christians are candles. They shine on their own power for a while, but gradually their light diminishes. Others shine like the moon, reflecting God’s glory like Moses did when he came down from the mount in Exodus 34:29; and they shine throughout their lifetime.
We Christians need to be like the moon; we should reflect God’s glory. By doing this, we will see souls won for Christ, and people added to the church daily. If we reflect the "Sonlight" like the moon reflects the sunlight, others will see how glorious God really is.
If a Christian’s light is dim, there are some important things he can do to make his light brighter. He needs to get into God’s Word and pray fervently, asking Him what he can do for God’s work. When God shows him what to do, he will need to ask for the power of God to fill him so he can be bold for Jesus in every situation. If he has trouble finding God’s will, he can ask for counsel. Sometimes, a teenager might find trials along the way like Paul did in his life; but he can ask God for help and get back to work.
In order for a teenager’s light to stay bright, he must stay in God’s Word and talk about what he reads each day with other Christians. He also must stay in church, no matter what happens. If he is faithful to his church ministry, he will see souls saved and lives changed.
Choose what you would rather be - a candle shining on its own power and eventually diminishing, or a moon that reflects God’s glory and a light for others to follow.
